Although this is a lovely photo of A BEAUTIFUL board
room...um...somewhere...it is only a rendition of the board room that
lives in our very own LOV Board Members hopes and aspirations.

Our hard
working Members of the Junior Board of Management meet in a conference
room provided for them, at no
charge, by the generous folks at Central Market and they are
humbly thankful for its use.
Members meet once a month to energetically discuss and brainstorm
our current and future LOV plan of action.

Spencer
Claire Bobbitt – 13 – is in the 8th grade and attends Alamo
Heights
Junior
School
where she maintains an A average. She studied Spanish in an immersion
setting
and is fluent in Spanish. She is
currently a member of the National Junior Honor Society, an Honor Roll
student,
and Student Council Member. She was on a
competitive soccer squad for 2 years and competed at Nationals in Orlando,
Florida. She is currently playing
volleyball for
AHJS. Spencer has taken dance classes
since the age of 3 and was an apprentice member of the SA Metropolitan
Dance
Company as well as the Ballet Conservatory of South Texas dance
company.
She has taken tumbling classes for the last 5
years as well as been on award winning competitive cheerleading squads
for 3
years. She continues to take tumbling
classes and work on her show presence.
She plans on trying out for the nationally ranked cheerleading squad at
Alamo
Heights
High School in the spring
of 2009. She has volunteered for
Challenger Buddy, the San Antonio Food Bank, and ALS Walk and now plans
on
bringing her enthusiasm and commitment to the LOV Junior Board as well.

Vanessa Freckmann, 18 - graduated
valedictorian out of 424 students from Robert
E. Lee High School
and the North East School
of the Arts (NESA) in San
Antonio. She
started piano lessons at age six and
took up the horn in sixth grade
at Poteet Jr. High. Vanessa studied most
recently with Dr. Anya Grokhovski and performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC
as a
finalist of an international piano competition in Corpus Christi. During
high school, she served as President
of her senior class, President and Treasurer of the National Spanish
Honor
Society, Music Librarian and Orchestra Manager at NESA, and member of
the
National Honor Society. Outside of
school, she volunteered as director of the Beethoven Kinderchor of San Antonio and
presided
as Student Leader of the Jr. Tuesday Musical Club.
Vanessa was nominated as the single
representative from Lee High School to attend the GOLD Youth Leadership
Seminar
and the Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly, returning as a volunteer
staff member
for both seminars. In January 2008, she
won the Suzanne Lawrence Award for Scholastic Excellence in the Miss
Bexar
County Pageant. The following April, the
San Antonio Express News featured Vanessa as a member of the A Team, a
group of
50 exemplary high school seniors who have excelled academically, in
leadership,
and have been involved in their communities. This past summer, Vanessa
participated in an internship with the local non-profit organization
Communities In Schools as one of five San Antonio students chosen for the
Bank of America
Student Leaders Program. She also attended
a week-long national Leadership Summit in Washington D.C.
with Bank of America Student
Leaders from across the country. Vanessa
is a Murchison Merit Scholar, Baker Duncan Fine Arts Scholar, and music
scholarship
recipient at Trinity
University
beginning Fall
2008.

Yvonne Freckmann, 19 - will graduate in 2010, a junior
Piano Performance and Composition major at Trinity University. She
began piano studies with the Suzuki method at age 7. It was at
the North East School of the Arts in San Antonio that her love and
passion for music exponentially grew. While at NESA, Freckmann helped
premiere a musical, record a short film score and premiere chamber
works- all written by fellow classmates. Now she brings the excitement,
creative energy and enthusiasm she experienced to Trinity. She
recently founded TUCHÉ [too sháy] (Trinity University Chamber
Ensemble), which provides collaborative performance opportunities for
students throughout the Trinity and San Antonio community, and also
promotes new music and service. She is also writing incidental music
for Trinity's upcoming production of BOOTH, a play by Austin
Pendleton.She studies piano with Dr. Carolyn True, and composition with
Dr. Timothy Kramer and Dr. David Heuser. Jack W. Stamps is her
electroacoustic music teacher. Freckmann is a member of the Symphonic
Wind Ensemble, Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity), Swing
Bums, and is a reporter for The Trinitonian, the student-run campus
newspaper.

Katherine
(Katie) Celeste Risor, 13 - is an 8th
grader at William P. Hobby Middle School.
Katie is an Honor Roll student and a member of the National Junior
Honor
Society. She is a member of the Advance
Art Class and recipient of two Reflections awards in art and
writing. Katie is an avid reader and enjoys writing
poetry, stories and is currently working on her first book. She
loves working with children and is an
advocate for making the world “Greener”.
Katie has studied dance since the age of 7. She has performed in
such classic ballets as
Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast, Peter & The Wolf, Nutcracker,
Midsummer
Night’s Dream and Sleeping Beauty. She
has had the privilege of dancing with such prestigious local studio’s
as Ballet
Arts and The Ballet Conservatory of South Texas, as well as the New
York based
MorganScott Ballet Company.
Katie is looking forward
to
expanding her education in the Performing Arts and being a part of
bringing the
Arts to the San Antonio Community through the Jr. Board of LOV!

Gabe
Salomon, 13 - is in the 8th grade and attends Alamo
Heights
Junior
School
where he maintains a 96 grade point average and is on the honor
roll.
His interests include playing tennis and the
bass guitar. He was a key member of the
Destination Imagination Team who took 1st place in the regional
competition, representing Woodridge Elementary in 2006.

Nisa
Aida Sanders, 17 - is currently a senior attending
North East School of the Arts with her major being Film
Production. Her education begins with K - 2nd where she attended
the Circle School, then 3rd - 8th at Hawthorn Academy. She is a
substitute Arts Instructor at the Southwest School of Art & Craft
in their Saturday Morning Discovery Outreach Program. Her work in
the community includes participation as a Junior Art Consultant for
Common Ground at the Carver
Community Cultural Center and SBC Collaboration 2005-2008. She
was a volunteer for Southwest School of Art & Craft
Fiesta Art Fair in 2005, a volunteer for Musical Bridges around the
World - Jazz series, and she is a MUNSA Delegate. In
2005-06
Nisa was listed in the Who’s Who among American High School
Students. During 2007
Nisa was the MUNSA Chair and in 2008 she holds the position
of
MUNSA Secretariat: Event Coordinator.

Jennifer Turner, 17 -
is currently a senior at John Paul Stevens
High School. She is highly involved in the theatre
department there
where she does both acting and technical duties. She is also involved
in her
church where she helps out with the children's choir and sings in both
the
youth and chancel choirs. As far as free time goes, to Jen, theres
no such
thing. She likes to keep busy and always has something planned. Her
hobbies
include dancing, acting, singing, motocross, and really random
advenures! Upon
graduation she is hoping to attend Texas A&M University where she
will
study advertising and theatrical operations.

Chandler O'Quinn Wahrmund, 13 - is in the 8th grade at
Alamo Heights Junior School
where he maintains an A average. This year he begins his 5th year
in the
Strings Program as an upright bass player. He is a member of the
Jazz
Strings Orchestra. He has been
performing on stage since he was 4 years old and wrote his first script
when he
was 10. He enjoys performing impersonations
of celebrities and past US presidents. He
will be an Executive Officer this year in the Children of the Republic
of Texas,
Alamo Mission Chapter. He is a junior member of the Sons of
the Republic of Texas, William Barrett Travis Chapter
and is also a member of the Children of the American Revolution.
He is
beginning his third year as a German Language student under
Professor Emeritus,
Charles Hansen and he is very excited to be taking his first year of
Latin.
