Jennifer
Edmonds-Jones - Dance -
comes
to San Antonio from New York City where she continues to work as
a performer and arts educator. She has performed and choreographed in
various
dance companies, films, children’s videos, musicals, benefits and
festivals
throughout the world in every genre of dance from ballet to hip hop.
Her consulting work and teaching affiliations
include: NYC Department of Education, Marquis Studios (Brooklyn,
NY), 92nd Street Y (NYC), Together In Dance (NYC), Irby’s
Dance Center (NJ), Indianapolis Parks and Recreation
(IN), Summer Arts Institute (NYC).
Jennifer was choreographer or
assistant choreographer on the following: Play
On! (Arena Stage, Pasadena Playhouse, Goodman Theatre), Pajama Game
(Bronx Science), Crazy
for You (Arsenal Theatre),
Rockette Workshop – Rockettes Out of Line
(Radio City Music Hall), Queen Esther Morrow’s Walk Tall Tour
(European Tour), Broadway Cares/EFA Benefit (The
Apollo Theatre), mixed abilities dance company Dance Detour
(Chicago), Foot
& Fiddle Dance Company (New York).
She has
worked
with amazing
director/choreographers such as: Mercedes
Ellington, whom she has also assisted on local and international
projects, Ken
Roberson, Andre DeShields, Hinton Battle, Brenda Bufalino, Desmond
Richardson, Dwight Rhoden, Homer Bryant,
Gayle McKinney Griffith, Joel Hall, Hernando Cortez, Henning Rubsam,
Byron
Easley, Pat Cannon, Errol Grimes, Christian Von Howard, and Matt
Williams.
Jennifer is
a
member of
Actor’s Equity Association and the American Guild for Variety Artists,
daCi
(dance and the Child International) and has a BA in Performing Arts
Management.

Barbara
Phillips
- Dance - has
dedicated much of her life to passing the art form of tap dance on to
new
generations. She teaches as a faculty member and guest artist in both
public and private dance institutions; including intensive workshops,
residencies and master classes throughout the U.S.
She has studied with many of the great contemporary artists and masters
including Sam Weber, Lynn Dally, Lane Alexander, Dianne Walker, Fred
Strickler, Acia Gray and Heather Cornell to name a few. Barbara has
appeared as a soloist in Tap Jammin at the Kaplan Theater, Rhythm
Extravaganza, Dance Festival SA, Dance for USA, Dallas National Tap
Dance Day Celebrations and is the founder of Third Coast Rhythm
Project. She has appeared as a guest artist with Especially Tap
Chicago, the Soul to Sole Festival in Austin, “Everything on Tap” in
Dallas, Hoofin Ground Festival in Charlotte, and the Chicago Human
Rhythm Project’s Rhythm World Summer Festival.
She teaches throughout the
year as a guest instructor
at Tapestry Dance Academy in Austin and was a featured artist for “The
Legacy Tap Project”. She has had the privilege to share the stage with
Dianne Walker, Sarah Petronio, Acia Gray, Nicholas Young, Nicole
Hockenberry, Mark Yonally, Ira Bernstein, Buster Cooper, Jay Fagan,
Derick Grant, Lane Alexander, and Legends Fayard Nicholas and Arthur
Duncan. Barbara also appeared in “JUBA” Masters of Tap and Percussive
Dance with Mr. Alexander at the Chicago Human Rhythm Project. She has
staged numerous productions for the San Antonio Symphony's Pops Series
including “Big Band” under the baton of the irrepressible Michael
Krajewski, and works with numerous youth companies across the U.S.
Barbara
is currently artistic director of R.P.M. (Rhythm & Percussion in
Motion) Youth Tap Ensemble, Artistic Producing Director of Third Coast
Rhythm Project, and serves on the Executive Board of the San Antonio
Dance Umbrella.

Karla
Clayton Pollock -
Theatre
- Ms.
Pollock taught Theatre Arts in San
Antonio for
twenty-eight years; the first six years for North Side ISD, and the
last
twenty-two for Alamo Heights ISD. Ms. Pollock is listed in the 1992 and
1998
editions of WHO’S WHO AMONG AMERICA
‘S TEACHERS. In the 1970’s and early 80’s, she performed in numerous
productions on San Antonio stages and appeared in local television
commercials.
Ms. Pollock credits her teaching strengths to several incredibly gifted
professors: Lynn Murray (theatre history, stage lighting and children’s
theatre), Ray Keith Pond (acting), Maureen Mcintyre (acting), John Dent
(costuming), I.J. South (set design and construction) and Charles
Schmidt
(directing, script writing and stage makeup). Even after her 2006
retirement
from the public education system, her love for all forms of the fine
arts and
her dedication to teaching continue to define her life: ‘1 take great
pride in
my ability to inspire students to become actively and enthusiastically
involved
in the learning process and achieve beyond their own expectations.

Helen
Browning Rodriguez - Voice - Actress and operatic
vocalist,
Helen was invited in 1994 by the Consulate of Mexico to perform for the
Diez v
Sies celebration for an audience of 1,500 at San Antonio’s Municipal
Auditorium. In 1997,
she was selected to perform for the Governor of Oaxaca. Mexico. Helen
received her certification in KINDERMUSIK instruction in 2001 and has
conducted
classes at San Antonio’s First Presbyterian
Church and Alamo Heights Methodist Church. She is currently
studying opera at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Born artist,
Helen is committed to academic
and experiential development opportunities for future generations of
budding
young performing artists: It is vital to provide for our children a
legacy of
rich avenues for exploration of the fine arts. Theatre education offers
each
student the delightful opportunity to discover inner powers, and iris
through self-discovery that one acquires a greater capacity to
understand and
appreciate others.”
